Indiana University, Department of Statistics

The Department of Statistics was created in July 2006 in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University in Bloomington. The department supports 8 faculty members who have majority appointments in Statistics, and many more adjunct members who are affiliated with both Statistics and a variety of other departments on campus, such as Psychological and Brain Sciences, Informatics, Economics, Education, Business, Mathematics, Geography, and Computer Science. The Statistics Department teaches a coherent body of theory as well as methodology designed for applied uses in many disciplines.

The department offers a BS in Statistics, a PhD minor in Statistical Science, and an MS in Applied Statistics. Because the department is relatively new, it is in the process of creating both an MS and a PhD in Statistical Science, but hopes to have these programs in place by Fall, 2010.
