National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) provides timely, relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security objectives. Information collected and processed by NGA supports civilian and military decision-makers, peacekeeping, and humanitarian efforts such as tracking floods and fires. In support of this mission, NGA conducts research in the areas of photogrammetry and remote sensing, geodesy and geophysics, models of space-time, analysis and representation of uncertainty, computational modeling of large datasets, forecasting, participatory sensing, and visual analytics. NGA is a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community and a Department of Defense (DoD) Combat Support Agency.
