University of South Carolina, Department of Statistics

The Department of Statistics at the University of South Carolina offers Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Master of Industrial Statistics degrees, and a Graduate Certificate in Statistics.

It also offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics. The Graduate Program has about 30 full-time students and about 30 part-time and/or distance education students, while there are about 50 undergraduate majors.

Currently, the Department has 10 tenure/tenure-track faculty and 3 instructors, with anticipated additional hiring in the coming year. Major research areas of the faculty are in Reliability and Survival Analysis, Latent Variable and Mixed Effects Models, Highly Structured Data, Simultaneous Inference including Multiple Testing, Psychometrics and Educational Measurements, and Biomedical and Environmental Applications.
