Affiliates Update: June, 2003

1. APDF. Initial proposals to the Affiliates Proposal Development Fund are due July 1, 2003. Details are on the Affiliates web site, at http://www.niss.org/affiliates/apdf/apdf.html

If you have a nearly completed proposal but will not be able to make the July 1 deadline, please send an E-mail message to apdf@niss.org. Proposals can still be accepted until July 11.

2. SAMSI PROGRAM ON DATA MINING AND MACHINE LEARNING. Registration is open for the Kickoff Workshop and Tutorials, which will be held on September 6-9. For more information and to register, go to the SAMSI web site: http://www.samsi.info/200304/dmml/dmml-workshop200309.html

Affiliates Reimbursement Accounts may be used to defray expenses of attending. The registration deadline is July 15, but later applications will be considered as space and funding permit.

3. EURANDOM ALLIANCE. NISS is implementing an alliance with EURANDOM, the European stochastics institute located in Eindhoven, Netherlands. See their web site for details: http://www.eurandom.nl/

As the initial step, all EURANDOM Workshops will be open to NISS Affiliates and NISS/SAMSI University Affiliates, who may use their Affiliates Reimbursement Accounts to help meet the expenses of participating. Announcements of specific events will be made in these update messages and on the Affiliates home page.
