These include:
- Alan F. Karr, "Introduction and Overview"
- Ashish Sanil, "The NISS Data Swapping Toolkit"
- Aleksandra Slavkovic, "Tabular Data: Releases of Conditionals and Marginals"
- Stephen Roehrig, "Cyclic Perturbation: Protecting Confidentiality in Tabular Data"

- Alan F. Karr, "Secure Data Integration"
- Alan F. Karr, "Future Plans"
2. SECOND AFFILIATES REPRESENTATIVE. At the November 7-8 NISS Annual Meeting (of the Board of Trustees), the eminently sensible suggestion was made that each affiliate designate a second representative, who will also receive E-mail announcements of upcoming events, as well as these updates. This will help improve communication, especially with other members of your organization. If you wish to have a second representative, please send that person's name and E-mail address to me.
3. FUTURE AFFILIATES EVENTS
4. AFFILIATES PROBLEM DAY. As noted in Item 3, the inaugural Affiliates Problem Day will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2004, the day preceding the March 5 Affiliates Planning Meeting. The goal of this day is to allow corporate, government and national laboratory affiliates to present problems for which they wish to form collaborative relationships with other affiliates (especially, NISS/SAMSI University Affiliates). Such collaborations are meant to conduct research to address the problems, which may include preparing proposals to secure funding for the research. They may or may not involve NISS.
This is the first invitation to corporate, government and national laboratory affiliates to submit problems for the problem day. Roughly, the program will run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an hour for lunch. With time allowed for both group and off-line discussion, and 20-30 minute problem presentations, this will let us accommodate 5-8 problems. Each presentation, ideally, will describe the problem in sufficient depth to allow meaningful discussion. It will also address why the problem is hard, why it is important and what difference progress on it would make. Explicit discussion of data sets should be included if it helps.
If you WANT TO or even THINK you would like to present a problem, please let me know, and include a brief description. Once we have a sense of the potential number of presenters, Stan Young, Gary McDonald and I will work with those wishing to make presentations in order to develop the final program. (This is planned to be an annual event; those who wish to present problems but whom we cannot include this year will have priority next year.)
5. CO-SPONSORED EVENTS. Affiliates reimbursement accounts (ARAs) may be used to attend events co-sponsored by NISS, including:
