Digital Government:
Project Update - October 2002
1. NISSWEBSWAP GUI. A graphical user interface (GUI) for the NISSWebSwap software is in the final stages of development, and will be released shortly. NISS intern Charlie Liu is the principal developer. The GUI facilitates easy selection of input and output files, choice of the swapping rate and selection of the swapping specification (swapping attribute(s) and optional equality or inequality constraints on other attributes). You will receive an announcement of the release; the software and documentation will be available on the NISS Web site, at
http://www.niss.org/WebServices/webservices.html
2. CMU DISCLOSURE LIMITATION SEMINAR. A Disclosure Limitation Seminar at CMU for DG participants and other interested researchers has been initiated. The first presentations: Stephen Fienberg on bounds for tables (October 21); Stephen Roehrig on methods for perturbing tables (October 28).
3. PRESENTATIONS
4. POSTDOCTORAL APPOINTMENTS. NISS has project needs and funds to make at least three postdoctoral appointments between now and next summer. Areas include digital government, software engineering, Web site analysis and bioinformatics.
