1. PUBLICATIONS. Completed recently:

2. NISSWebSwap v1.1. The new version of NISSWebSwap, a Web service for data
swapping, was released in January. The principal improvement is a graphical
user interface implemented by NISS intern Chunhua "Charlie" Liu.

3. DATA SWAPPING TOOL KIT. NISS plans to complete development of a Data
Swapping Toolkit by the end of the summer. Principal components will be:
- A version of the swapping software employed by NISSWebSwap that runs on the user's own machine
- Graphical user interface for individual runs of the swapper
- Modules for computation of disclosure risk and data distortion
- Scripts that automate larger-scale investigations, such as multiple swapping rates and multiple choices of swapping attributes
- Visualization tool for analyzing output from such large-scale investigations
4. NAS PANEL. George Duncan has been appointed to a new National Academy
of Sciences panel on Research Access to Data through the Committee on National
Statistics and sponsored by the National Institute on Aging.
5. AIM WORKSHOP ON COMPUTATIONAL ALGEBRAIC STATISTICS. Within a short time
