George Duncan served on the Panel on Data Access for Research
Purposes of the Committee on National Statistics, National Academies of
Science. The final report, "Expanding Access to Research Data: Reconciling
Risks and Opportunities", was released on August 31.

Mario Trottini's 2004 Doctoral dissertation from Carnegie
Mellon received honorable mention as a finalist for the 2004 Savage Award
from the International Society for Bayesian Analysis and the Section on
Bayesian Statistical Science of the American Statistical Association.
