2. SAMSI PROGRAM ON NATIONAL DEFENSE AND HOMELAND SECURITY (NDHS)
A principal activity of the 2005-06 SAMSI program on NDHS is a working group on data confidentiality. (Other working groups are studying agro-terrorism and fragile systems, anomaly detection, and social networks.) The initial foci are methods for secure (multi-party and other) computation and categorical data.
This year, SAMSI is attempting to make working group partipation available to those outside the Research Triangle by means of web cams and teleconference. The DC group meets on Friday mornings from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Eastern time. Anyone who wishes would like to participate in the meetings should contact me to discuss details and procedures. Those who wish to monitor working group activities at greater remove can do so (or, will be able to do so soon) via the SAMSI web site (http://www.samsi.info).
