National Institute of Statistical Sciences

KDI Workshop at NISS

March 9, 1998

OBJECTIVE: The KDI program initiative was announced in NSF publication NSF 98-55. This initiative holds exciting opportunities for mathematical, statistical and computer scientists to engage in cross-disciplinary research.

The purpose of the workshop was to disseminate information about KDI and stimulate mathematical scientists from all areas to participate in interdisciplinary projects having major KDI issues of large data sets, numerical simulations and complex modeling. The presentations will include case studies of ongoing research projects typifying the KDI thrusts.
