Jerome Sacks Award for
Outstanding Cross-Disciplinary Research

Contributions Sought

 

The NISS Board of Trustees has established the Jerome Sacks Award for Cross-Disciplinary Research, an annual prize of $1,000 recognizing sustained, high-quality cross-disciplinary research involving the statistical sciences.

The inaugural award will be presented on August 6, 2001, at the NISS reception at JSM 2001 in Atlanta. A plaque in the NISS building will list all recipients.

A permanent endowment is being raised to fund the award. The W. K. Kellogg Foundation has magnificently provided a lead gift of $10,000.

Individuals or groups who wish to honor Jerry Sacks' contributions to NISS, cross-disciplinary research and the
statistical sciences generally are invited to contribute to the fund. Checks should be made out to NISS and sent to:
