Biostatistician - Procter & Gamble

Job Description

Data & Modeling Sciences is seeking a Statistician for our Mason, OH location. The ideal candidate must apply mastery in Statistical Genomics, Microbiology Analysis, and Clinical Analysis methods to deliver game-changing, technology-driven mathematical models for development of innovative new products and processes.  This position will span a range of applications from upstream work in our Corporate Functions organization to applications in our operating business units.  The successful candidate will enable better decision-making and improved business results as they:

  • Help guide teams on problem definition, design of experiments and sample size, and analysis methods.
  • Develop and apply a wide range of analytics and algorithms against a wide variety of projects.
  • Maintain familiarity with rapidly evolving life science methods and associated statistical literature/software, bringing alternative measures and methods forward.
  • Explore data from biotechnologies or facilitate advances in biotechnology using emerging data science and machine learning tools.
  • Communicate statistical ideas and results to non-statistical partners.

Job Qualifications

  • PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics with strong focus or exposure to biological sciences.
  • Strong analytic thought process and ability to interpret findings to clients; the person in this position is also expected to propose and help initiate ideas to advance Bioscience methods.
  • Skills in design of experiments and a mastery of various statistical methodologies such as multivariate statistics, linear and non-linear modeling, data integration and data mining tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical programming languages and tools such as SAS, R, Python, and/or JMP;
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Bayesian methods is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning methods is a plus.
