The Research and Development Division of the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is conducting a search for a survey statistician at the GS-11, 12 or 13 levels. The position is eligible for remote work though the successful applicant could also choose to telework. NASS is a statistical branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and a principal federal statistical agency. NASS has 12 regional offices throughout the United States and Puerto Rico and a headquarters unit in Washington DC. NASS conducts hundreds of surveys and issues nearly 500 national reports each year on all aspects of U.S. agriculture, including agricultural production, economics, demographics and the environment. NASS also conducts the U.S. Census of Agriculture every five years. These positions will be in headquarters (DC).

The Research and Development Division works on a wide-range of projects. This leads to research on a variety of topics, including questionnaire and usability testing, sampling, estimation, modeling, statistical data editing and imputation. These positions are posted on USAjobs through Monday, February 28, 2022
