Ph.D. Statistician Position - RAND Corporation

RAND Corporation is seeking help in identifying qualified candidates for the Ph.D. Statistician position at the in any of its locations including Santa Monica, CA, Arlington, VA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Boston, MA. 
RAND is a not-for-profit, independent public policy research organization. Statisticians at RAND work across all research areas, including healthcare, education and labor, criminal and civil justice, social and economic wellbeing, national security, and military manpower. These projects often pose novel challenges in design, sampling, measurement, imputation, modeling, network analysis, machine learning, and computing.  Statisticians at RAND have many opportunities to contribute to public policy through collaborations on multidisciplinary teams, rigorous analysis to advance policy research, by developing statistical methods or leading projects. If interested, there are opportunities to teach in the Pardee RAND Graduate School.  Recent examples of statistical work at RAND include Bayesian modeling to understand changes in risk of colorectal cancer with birth cohort and diagnosis period, development of methods and tools for causal mediation and moderation, creating models to evaluate and to mitigate gender and racial disparities among national security personnel, and improved imputation models for missing data in measures of drug use.
