The first concerns models of flows on transportation networks. Whether the subject is personal travel or freight transportation, representation of the transportation network is necessary to determine realistically interzonal/interregional travel/transportation costs. The methodological effort required to achieve such results is nontrivial, but the issues raised by such an attempt are enlightening and worthwhile. This insight is demonstrated once more by the models considered here.</p>
