U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Senior Research Mathematical Statistician
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is seeking a Senior Research Mathematical Statistician with a track record of research publications and mentoring to join the Office of Survey Methods Research (OSMR). This is a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge statistical research that directly impacts the integrity and quality of high-impact government data products.
BLS produces some of the nation's most critical economic indicators, including data on employment, occupations, inflation and prices, workplace conditions, and productivity. - Bayesian Hierarchical Modeling or Machine Learning for survey domain and respondent level estimation, with a strong emphasis on uncertainty quantification.
- Statistical Data Privacy methods and applications.
- Methods for Combining Probability and Non-Probability Sampling data sources.
- Variance estimation for survey data statistics.
The position requires expertise in both theoretical development and the generation of practical results that can be implemented in production systems for BLS data products.
