University of Missouri, Department of Statistics and Data Science tenure track Assistant Professor position (9-month appointment)

The Department of Statistics and Data Science at the University of Missouri invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position (9-month appointment), to begin Fall 2027.  This tenure-track position prioritizes candidates with an emphasis in Biostatistics.  We seek creative statisticians with an interest in developing novel methodology that complements our strengths in spatial and spate-temporal statistics, AI, and data science with substantive application interests (e.g., precision health, spatial transcriptomics, and brain imaging, among others).  The University of Missouri has world-class facilities to facilitate biostatistical research, including a medical school and hospital, college of veterinary medicine and hospital, a center for precision medicine, plant science, and many other collaborative opportunities.  Candidates should have a strong methodological foundation and have a demonstrated commitment to creating innovative approaches, theoretically sound methodology, and computational tools.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctorate in statistics or biostatistics or related field by time of appointment is required.  Candidates will be evaluated on their research potential, teaching experience, and communication skills.
