Overview

The Department of Statistics is excited to host UGA’s first-ever ASA DataFest, an engaging and fast-paced, weekend-long data analysis competition sponsored by the American Statistical Association (ASA).

Over the course of 48 hours, undergraduate and graduate students will work in teams to analyze a large, complex, real-world dataset provided by a surprise industry partner. Participants will combine their analytical, programming, problem-solving, and storytelling skills to generate meaningful insights and present their findings to a panel of judges from academia and industry.

The event begins on Friday, April 10 at 5:00 PM and concludes on Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 PM with final presentations and the awards ceremony. Whether you are passionate about data science, eager to collaborate, or simply curious about exploring real-world datasets, UGA ASA DataFest 2026 offers a fun, challenging, and unforgettable experience.
