Dale Willits, an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University, has over 15 years of experience conducting research in criminal justice. His research expertise is in policing and police data as applied to a variety of substantive topics, including police use of force, differential policing, and police organizations. He received his MA and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of New Mexico, with an emphasis on research methods and statistics. His research has been supported by a variety of state and federal agencies, including the National Institute of Justice and the National Science Foundation. In addition, recently spent 1.5 years as a senior researcher at Meta, managing a portfolio of log, survey, behavioral, and perceptual data on problematic user behavior and experiences.
