Lisa Lupinacci is the Senior Vice President of Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences at Merck. In her 28 years at Merck, she has followed a unique career path that includes positions in 3 therapeutic areas and 3 functional areas. In addition to her various statistical roles, she has served 4 years as a drug development team lead and 1 year as a clinical director. She currently leads a global organization of over 1000 employees across the US, China, London, Brussels, and Zurich who provide statistical, epidemiologic, health economic modeling expertise to support to Merck’s product pipeline. Lisa is the 2024-25 Chair of the cross-industry Biopharmaceutical Statistical Leaders Consortium and is a member of the American Statistical Association Biopharmaceutical Section Leadership in Practice Committee. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Villanova University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics from Virginia Tech.
